We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Java Engineer with a strong DevOps mindset.  You will be at the heart of our development team, building cutting-edge IoT solutions while also shaping the cloud infrastructure and pipelines that bring them to life. If you thrive on writing clean, scalable code and owning the entire lifecycle from commit to cloud, we want you on our team.

Your Contribution to Something Big:

As a Senior Java Engineer, you won't just be writing code; you'll be shaping the future of smart buildings with NEXOSPACE. You'll build the core services of our platform and own the process for deploying them reliably and efficiently, directly impacting the performance and security of our global IoT solutions. Your work will contribute to making buildings smarter, more efficient, and future-proof.

On a typical day you will:

• Design, develop, and scale high-quality Java Spring Boot microservices on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Own and enhance the CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to ensure rapid and reliable software delivery of your code.
• Collaborate on architecting and implement robust Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles (Bicep/Pulumi).
• Champion clean code and test automation using modern software engineering best practices.
• Lead efforts in enhancing the security posture of our applications and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and infrastructure issues, working across the full stack.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the strategic direction of our software and cloud platforms.
• Mentor, code review and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in Java, cloud-native development, and DevOps.

What distinguishes you:

These are the areas where your experience will help us:

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Expert Developer Background: Extensive experience designing and building scalable, production-grade applications with Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• DevOps Mindset & Experience: Significant hands-on experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering capacity, or as a developer with deep involvement in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Container & Orchestration: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (AKS), from building optimized images to writing deployment manifests and managing application lifecycles.
• IaC Familiarity:  Proficient in the principles of managing cloud infrastructure using code, with hands-on experience in Bicep or Pulumi being a strong plus.
• Automation Mindset: Skilled in scripting with Bash and/or TypeScript in a Linux environment to automate everything you can.
• Networking Familiarity: Knowledge and understanding of Azure Networking (VNet, Private Link, VPN).
• Collaborative Spirit: Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex technical ideas clearly in both English and Portuguese.
